All the sessions in this Kindle Publishing course will be live and interactive. We limit the number of participants to up to 20 to keep it cozy.

About Neil D'Silva

With several bestselling books to his credit, Neil D'Silva is a known name in the Indian literary world. His unique stories have struck a chord with a wide range of readers, eliciting praise from various quarters.  

Neil started his literary journey in 2015 as a Kindle author. He made his debut with Maya's New Husband which he had released through Kindle Publishing. It became a bestseller and stayed on top of the charts for weeks. Maya's New Husband won the title of Entertainer of the Year at the Literary Awards 2015 that was co-hosted by Authors' Ink Publications and Inside Stories.

Since then he has released 8 books on Amazon KDP using Kindle Publishing, all of which have been bestsellers in the Horror category. Today he has been published by leading traditional publishing houses like Penguin Random House, Rupa Publications,  Hachette and Vishwakarma Publications among others. His books have also won screen adaptation deals.

He has been named as one of the Top 7 Indian horror writers to be read by UK's DESIblitz magazine. Considered as one of the forerunners of contemporary Indian horror literature, he has been covered by publications such as Mid-day, New Indian Express, Morning Standard, and others. He is also a prominent speaker at literature festivals, and is the creative director of Litventure, an interschool literary festival conducted in Mumbai. 

He has spoken at the TEDx platform and conducted masterclasses at IIT Kanpur and on Wattpad among others. He has judged the horror category at Wattpad India Awards in 2019 and 2020. Neil D'Silva is the President of the India Chapter of the Horror Writers Association. He was a winner at the Delhi Literature Festival Short Story Competition of 2015.

2. I write in my mother tongue which is not English. Can I attend this workshop?

Yes, you can.

Kindle publishes books in Hindi , Tamil, Malayalam , Marathi , and Gujarati. If you write in any of these languages, you can use the learnings of this workshop on the KDP platform.  However, the sessions in this workshop will all be in English. 

3. Is there any minimum age criteria for participants?

No

4. Will the workshop also teach me editing?

No, this workshop will focus only on Kindle Publishing. If you are interested to learn editing you can consider the Editing and Research workshop we offer. 

5. What it the pre-work?

Pre-work is the short- assignment given by Neil D'Silva to all participants of the Kindle Publishing workshop a few days before the workshop begins.

This can include reading, writing or preparing something which will be handy to discuss and seek feedback on during the workshop.

6. Is pre-work mandatory?

Yes, it is mandatory for all participants to have done the pre-work.

7. What if I miss out on any of the sessions for personal reasons?

Our sessions are live and not recorded. Hence, in case you miss out on any of the sessions, there is no way you can attend it again except perhaps ask any of the other participants to brief you on those topics.

8. What’s in store after the workshop is over?

We believe in creating a community for writers.  After attending one of our courses, the participants stay connected and work as a writing group. The close bond formed from the shared experience means you share, get feedback, become beta readers, critique works, and much more. We also host free events like the Himalayan First Draft Club and the Himalayan Book Club. You can also join our Facebook Group: Let’s Talk Writing, where, as the name suggests we just talk about writing and nothing else.
